My certificate has expired. What options do I have then?
Level 1: Within 24 months after your certificate expired, you can take a Level 2 course if you have 500 Level 1 hours that are no older than 5 years. If the certificate has expired by more than 24 months, you can qualify for Level 2 model 2. See the requirements here
Level 2: Within 24 months after your certificate expired, you can take a new level 2 course or you can take a level 3 course if you have 700 level 2 hours that are not older than 5 years.
If the certificate has expired by more than 24 months, you can qualify for Level 2 model 2. See the requirements here
Level 3: Within 24 months after your certificate expired, you can take another level 3.
If the certificate has expired by more than 24 months, you can qualify for Level 2 model 2. See the requirements here
Level 3: Within 24 months after your certificate expired, you can take another level 3.
If the certificate has expired by more than 24 months, you can qualify for Level 2 model 2. See the requirements here
Safety manager: Within 24 months after your certificate expires, you can take a level 3 course. There is then no need to go through a new aspirant period.
If it has been more than 24 months and less than 60 months since your certificate expired, you can take a level 3 course and you must complete a new aspirant period.
If the certificate has expired by more than 60 months, you can take the level 2 model 2 course.
For all levels: Examinations must be completed within the deadlines mentioned above
I am going to a course, but have become ill/injured. Can I get a dispensation?
yes, you can get a dispensation for admission requirements for courses if you can show a sick leave valid for all or part of the period three months before the expiry of your certificate. The sick note must be shown to the course company before admission to the course.
NB The duration of the certificate cannot be extended
My certificate has expired. Can I get a dispensation?
No, you do not get a dispensation for the duration of the certificate. You cannot work with a certificate that has expired.
I am going to or have been on parental leave, can I get an exemption?
yes, you can get a waiver for admission requirements for courses if you can show parental leave valid for all or part of the period three months before the expiry of your certificate. Documentation from a doctor or NAV must be shown to the course company before admission to the course.
